For the last 31 years, hundreds of families have gathered to walk and run in support of CURE, raising more than $6.2 million for lifesaving pediatric cancer research. Lauren’s Run & Picnic, presented by AutoNation, truly brings the community together, with families, schools, and companies forming race teams to support our fight.
After the race, participants, as well as families diagnosed with childhood cancer, join together for the CURE Annual Picnic. The CURE Picnic is a day unlike any other! Dozens of games, prizes, elaborate face painting, enormous inflatables, music and dancing, arts and crafts, a full lunch, and so much more. The CURE Picnic is a reunion for our families and a day of fun for all!

A LOOK AT LAST YEAR
The 31st annual Lauren’s Run & Picnic
The 31st Lauren’s Run & Picnic, presented by AutoNation, demonstrated once again the power of community in the fight against childhood cancer. With 1,700 participants, the atmosphere was electric as families, survivors, and supporters gathered for this meaningful tradition.
The event brought together teams to share personal stories. Many families and friends wore custom t-shirts honoring their heroes battling cancer, while one particularly moving team donned purple tutus in memory of a young girl named Lindsay. These personal touches highlighted the deep connections that bring people back year after year. Survivors, bereaved family members, children in active treatment, nurse practitioners, nurses – no matter how they all fit in the childhood cancer community, they came together as one to celebrate Lauren’s Run.
The Lauren Zagoria Champions for Children Award was presented to Mary Hamrick. Mary has been volunteering at Lauren’s Run since the first race and has only missed one in 31 years. She loves working with the littlest participants and brings her energy and excitement to the Tot Trot every year.
The post-race picnic buzzed with celebration as participants enjoyed food, games, and fun that have defined this event for over three decades. This combination of remembrance and joy perfectly captures the spirit of Lauren’s Run – honoring those we’ve lost while supporting those still fighting and celebrating those who’ve won their battles.
Thanks to our dedicated sponsors, donors, volunteers, and participants, the 31st Lauren’s Run & Picnic continues to fuel critical childhood cancer research and provides hope to families facing their toughest challenges. Together, we raised more than $340,000 on Sunday.
